The story of Robert Davila

Assalamu Alaikum dear Brothers and Sisters

Have any of you heard about Robert Davila ? Well, I guess not. But soon you'll get to know about him, a neck-down paralyzed christian's journey towards embracing Islam. 

Robert was born in September 1980 in Texas, USA. Growing up, he wasn't religious, leading a life of instability and loss. In 2001, Robert met with a car accident which changed his life forever. When he woke up, he found himself lying at the hospital bed and was unable to move his body. The accident left Robert paralyzed from the neck-down. 

Robert has since resided at The Longmeadow Care Center in Texas. He became best friends with his roommate, Mark. In 2004, Mark died in the operation theatre due to complications with his condition. He needed a liver transplant. When Mark died, his sister gave Robert his crucifix [A cross with the body of Isa AS on it] and Robert asked for the cross to be hung above his bed as a reminder of his friend. 

10 years after the accident, Robert had a dream that made him to embrace Islam and changed his life forever. 

Robert said "I went to sleep and it was so real. I was in the middle of the dessert; I saw hills and winds blowing the sand in all directions. At a distance, I saw a man who said my name is Mohammed. The Prophet SAW pointed at my cross and said "Look at the Prophet Isa, he eats food like us, he walks like us, he's human not God. God sent prophets so that we can worship God not prophets."

Robert suddenly woke up from his dream and embraced Islam. 

At that time in his life, Robert had never seen or been to a mosque, had never communicated with muslims, and had never held the Qur'an.

After his dream, Robert Davila accepted Islam and dedicated much of his time in reciting and remembering the Qur'an and studying the religion, he even went for Jumma prayer at mosque. After three years of embracing Islam, Robert has become an inspiration to many Muslims living in America and around the globe. 

-that's all with his journey. 

Now coming to the point, if Allah can guide Robert Davila, why can't he guide you ? No matter how sinful you are, no matter where you're stuck in life. You just need to seek his guidance and Allah will open doors for you from where you never expected.
